On August 16, 2022, El Cerrito Mayor Gabe Quinto signed an EL CERRITO CITY COUNCIL PROCLAMATION recognizing September as Library Card Sign-up Month in the City of El Cerrito.
So, how can you sign-up for a library card? The following information is from the Contra Costa County Library web site at https://ccclib.org/ .
What types of Library Cards are available and what’s the difference?
- eCards are available on line to anyone living in Contra Costa County.
- Full-Service Cards, which can be provided to you, free, when you visit a library, are available to residents of California.
What is the difference?
- An eCard allows patrons immediate access to many of the Library’s online services and databases including Rosetta Stone, LinkedIn Learning, The New York Times and East Bay Times. It also allows patrons to place holds and borrow eBooks.
- eCards ARE NOT VALID for use with LINK+, Kanopy Movies, or Discover & Go services.
- Full-Service Cards provide access to both physical and digital collections, and provide access to LINK+, Kanopy Movies, Discover & Go, and other services.
