TUESDAY EVENING MARCH 4, 2025 AT THE EL CERRITO CITY COUNCIL MID-YEAR BUDGET DISCUSSION AT CITY HALL
At a City Council study session starting at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 10890 San Pablo Avenue, the City Council will be reviewing the current year budget and, most importantly, for a new library, considering whether to include in the budget for the rest of this fiscal year the hiring of a construction manager for the Library Project planned as a part of the Plaza BART housing project.
The selection and hiring of a construction manager and then of an architectural firm to begin conceptual design of the new library to be included in the BART project is of critical importance.
City Staff will be recommending this addition to the 2024-’25 fiscal year budget and the work that the construction manager and architects will do is important to keep the library project move in a timely fashion.
Representatives of both the Library Foundation and of the Committee 4 Plaza Station Library will be in attendance, and both organizations are asking that supporters of a new library attend this important meeting to demonstrate the importance of a new library for El Cerrito.
Stickers will be provided to identify library supporters.
It is not necessary that each individual library supporter speak on this issue, but it will be important that a large number of library supporters attend this meeting to indicate how important it is to keep this project moving forward in a timely fashion.
