If You Haven’t Voted Yet, NOW IS THE TIME!

This information is provided as part of the El Cerrito Library Foundation’s participation in the National Voters Registration Day Program. It is important that we return our ballots in a timely manner. The purpose of this post is to help make that happen.

Everyone should have received their Vote By Mail (VBM) ballots by now. If you haven’t, go to Contra Costa County VBM Options or call the Contra Costa County Elections Office at (925) 335-7800 to see why.

Things to remember when you vote:

Sixteen Contra Costa County early voting sites will be open Friday October 30th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm; Saturday October 31st from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; and Monday November 2nd from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Go to CCC Elections Office for a complete list.

Local early voting sites are:

  • El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser lane, El Cerrito
  • Hilltop Mall Parking Lot, 2200 Hilltop Mall Road, Richmond (Outdoors in Event Tent)
  • Richmond Memorial Auditorium, 403 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond

Vote By Mail Ballots may be dropped off at any of the 37 CCC Official Outdoor Drop Boxes, available 24/7, or the six CCC Official Indoor Drop Boxes that are only open during business hours. For the location of these 43 Official Drop Boxes click here.

Local Official Outdoor Drop Boxes are located at:

  • El Cerrito City Hall parking lot, 10890 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito
  • Kensington Library, 61 Arlington Avenue, Kensington
  • Richmond City hall, 450 Civic Plaza, Richmond
  • San Pablo City Hall, 1000 Gateway Avenue, San Pablo

Local Official Indoor Drop Boxes are located at:

  • San Pablo Library, 13751 San Pablo Avenue*

* Only available during Library open hours: Tuesday 1:00 – 8:00 pm; Wednesday & Thursday  11:00 am – 6:00 pm; Friday & Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Other things to remember about voting in the November 3 election:

  • No postage is needed returning CA VBM ballots.
  • Election Day voting hours in California are from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
  • All CCC polling places open for the March 3rd Primary Election will be open for the November 3rd  General Election.
  • ALL ballots postmarked on or before Election Day must be received and counted by the CCC Elections Office no later than November 20th. Sign up and track your ballot through the State “WheresMyBallot” program at https://california.ballottrax.net/voter.
  • To confirm that your VBM ballot has been issued by, or received at CCC Elections Office, use “My Voting Information” tool at Track my VBM.

This secure ballot drop box is located on the parking lot side (South side) of the El Cerrito City Hall, 10890 San Pablo Avenue, El Cerrito, CA 94530. It will be available to receive VBM ballots 24/7 from Tuesday, October 6 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 3rd.
