Marlene Keller has lived in El Cerrito since 2014. She grew up in the East Bay and is a retired financial manager for Sandia National Laboratories (NM).
Gary Pokorny is a long-time resident of El Cerrito. He was City Manager of El Cerrito from 1989 to 2000. He recently retired as City Manager of Walnut Creek where he helped that community build a new library that opened in 2010.
Grace MacNeill is a retired El Cerrito branch librarian and long time volunteer with the Friends of El Cerrito Library.
Al Miller and his wife have lived in El Cerrito since 1979. Al has served on several city commissions and committees and currently serves as a Director of the Stege Sanitary District.
Tom Panas is a County Library Commissioner. He also serves on the boards of, and is the Treasurer of, the Richmond Emergency Food Pantry, the El Cerrito Historical Society, and the Friends of the El Cerrito Library. He has lived in El Cerrito since 1975.
Steven Poulos has lived in El Cerrito for more than 30 years and is retired from the Institute for South Asia Studies at UC Berkeley.
Amy Rogers has lived in El Cerrito since 2000. She is an eLearning librarian. She envisions a beautiful upgraded community library that will become the pride and joy of El Cerrito.
Thomas Rogers has lived in El Cerrito since 2000. He is a retired professor of communications and has taught at UC Berkeley, UC San Diego and San Jose State University.
Honorary Board Members
An Honorary Board Member contributes in an advisory capacity on the Board, but has no voting privileges.
Liz Ruhland is the Senior Community Library Manager for the El Cerrito and Rodeo Libraries. She has worked for the Contra Costa County Library since 1998. Before coming to El Cerrito in 2012 Liz managed first the Kensington Library then the Concord Library.
Jan Woo has lived in El Cerrito since 1998 and serves ex-officio as a Contra Costa County Library Commissioner.
